May 28-30 5th Annual Forum of the California Biomass Collaborative, Sacramento Convention Center
and Lifecycle Analysis

The California Biomass Collaborative, with the California Energy
Commission, the California Institute of Food and Agricultural Research,
the Center for Energy Efficiency & Renewable Technologies, and the
California Air Resources Board will hold the joint Fifth Annual Forum
on May 28th through 30th in Sacramento, California. This year’s
conference will focus on current issues in bioenergy sustainability and
lifecycle analysis with the intent of fostering public input to the
development of sustainability standards for bioenergy in the state. In
addition, a pre-conference UC Extension Bioenergy Workgroup meeting on
energy crop sustainability for biofuel production in California will be
held on Tuesday, 27 May 2008.
This conference will bring together an international group of
researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to share their work on
sustainability criteria and lifecycle analysis methodologies for
transportation fuels and bioenergy. Industry efforts in the area of
sustainability, incentives, and approaches to certification will also
be highlighted.
